Statement of Faith

• We believe that there is One God, eternal, existing in Three Persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Ephesians 4:4)

• We believe the Holy Scriptures were inspired by the Holy Spirit for instruction and training in righteousness. (2 Peter 1: 21; II Timothy 3:16)

• We believe in Jesus Christ as the Word of God in human flesh and blood. We believe Jesus became Savior of the world, by humbling himself and being obedient unto death on the cross. In his death and resurrection he broke the dominion of sin and reconciled us to God and gives us new birth, transformation, and victory for eternal life. (Philippians 2: 5-8; John 1: 14)

• We believe Jesus laid the foundation of the One True Church. And Jesus when he ascended gave gifts to men and women to prepare God’s people for works of ministry and service. (I Corinthians 3: 11, 16,17; Ephesians 4: 11-16).

The Calling of Norristown New Life is to be a diverse body of believers who:

• Worship the Lord in unity (Ephesians 4: 4,5)
  
• Experience the transforming and gifting power of the Holy Spirit ( Romans 12: 1,2)
  
• Proclaim the Gospel of reconciliation through Jesus Christ in word and deed. (2 Corinthians 5: 17-20)

Our Spiritual Journey as believers is to live and walk in a daily loving relationship with our Creator, to follow and serve the Living Jesus in love and obedience to his commands, and to produce the fruit of the Spirit in ministry in our world. To do this we covenant together to walk in the following Spiritual Disciplines or Practices:

• Daily Personal Prayer (humility, obedience, listening, empowerment)

• Reading and Study of the Scriptures (2 Timothy 3:16)

• Regular Worship Participation in the Community of Faith (Hebrews 10:25)

• Tithing (Malachi 3: 10; 2 Corinthians 9:7)

• Respect and Care for one another in Spiritual Shelters (Matthew 18:15-18; Galatians 6:2)

• Serving One Another in One or More Ministry Groups (Galatians 5:13)
  
• Witnessing in Word and Deed - Make New Disciples (Matthew 28: 19, 20)
