Norristown New Life Home Page
Welcome
We at Nueva Vida Norristown New Life welcome all visitors to come and experience the presence of God with us in our family. We are a multi-ethnic, bilingual (Spanish-English) Mennonite Church. Our purpose is to bring all people together in peace with God and with each other across all boundaries. We were founded in 1990. Norristown New Life Mennonite Church is a united urban fellowship of three formerly independent congregations - one Latino, one African-American, and one more Anglo-European. In 1990 the vision of God's healing work of restoration, reconciliation, and transformation brought us together to become a house of prayer for all ethnic groups. We have 110 members from several African nations, 10 Central and South American Countries, and Puerto Rico, India, etc. In worship together we are 100-140 persons.
Nueva Vida Norristown New Life Mennonite holds Spanish and English worship services at 10:45 AM every Sunday. There are Sunday School Classes for all ages in Spanish and English and an Overcomer's Group at 9:30 AM. Small groups or spiritual shelters meet weekly at convenient times in homes and at the church. Information: 610.279.LIFE(5433).

Enlarging Our Place
In 1990 God called together three ethnically diverse, English and Spanish speaking Mennonite congregations in Norristown to be a diverse body of believers who worship the Lord in unity, experience the transforming and gifting power of the Holy Spirit, and proclaim the Gospel of reconciliation through Jesus Christ in Word and deed. For Nueva Vida Norristown New Life (NVNNL) Mennonite Church, Sunday is no longer the most segregated day of the week. By God’s grace, NVNNL is entering a new time of faithful obedience, opportunity and expansion, from God’s Deuteronomy 28:1-14 vision, proclaimed to us two years earlier. We have expanded our outreach, invested in discipleship of youth and adults, and explored opportunities for community and economic development, being faithful stewards of the resources we had. Now God is generously opening His hand to expand this “house of prayer for all peoples” (Isaiah 56:7 and Mark 11:17)

Damascus Road Anti-Racism Process
In March 1995, more than 250 Mennonites and Brethren in Christ gathered in Chicago for a conference known as "Restoring Our Sight." This gathering for those seeking to challenge racism in the Anabaptist community examined the biblical basis for antiracism work, the history of racism in the Anabaptist tradition and institutional racism. One of the clearest of the many calls to resist racism coming out of a planning meeting at the gathering was a call to provide antiracism training for long-term institutional change. Check out more at the Mennonite Central Committee's Website.
Spiritual Shelters
Spiritual Shelters are our small groups. They provide times during the week for small groups of NVNNL attenders to gather for Bible Study, sharing, and prayer. You are welcome to join. Contact persons are listed.
